Sexuality Superheroes: Reba The Diva

Meet this week’s Sexuality Superhero, Reba The Diva! Reba’s goal is to fill the gap for comprehensive adult sexual health education. She aims to provide a positive learning environment, focusing on self-pleasure first. She helps her clients build their sexual (and non-sexual) confidence, have better and more honest partnered conversations, and develops deeper connections amongst spouses. Check out more of this Superhero’s advice below.

How did you find yourself working in sexuality?

I started out in sex toy sales for a popular MLM and I realized that before I could sell a toy to any of my clients, I had to educate them about their bodies and how pleasure works. I loved the education in what I did, but not the pressure to drive sales. So I quit and started a company of my own that is geared toward pleasure-positive sex education for adults.

What is the best part of the job?

The best part about my job is watching the transformation in my clients once they gain their sexual independence, which helps them build confidence in themselves both inside and outside of the bedroom. Knowledge truly is power and that power is transformative.

What is the most challenging part of the job?

The most challenging part about this work is overcoming the shame and stigma that surrounds sex and sex work. I’ve found that people often project their own feelings of shame and repression onto the work that I do and form perceptions about the work that simply aren’t true.

What is your most important piece of advice that has the potential to revolutionize relationships?

My advice is always to Prioritize Your Pleasure and make sure you’re holding space for your partner to prioritize theirs too! When you prioritize your own pleasure, you’re better able to communicate what your pleasure looks/feels like to your partner.

What do you do to decompress and take care of yourself given that you spend so much time helping and caring for others?

I set aside one day each week that I devote to relaxation, pleasure, self-reflection and personal development. On those days, I don’t take clients, and I try to spend time in nature and quiet spaces, journaling, meditating and taking a personal inventory of my thoughts/feelings/growth. Then I celebrate my achievements/growth by connecting with close friends.

What do you want people to know about your work as a sexuality educator and professional entertainer?

I’m a big believer in the power of community, which is why at Sexpert Consultants, we’ve developed an in depth training program for aspiring sexuality professionals and a community of resources and information for our team. Our goal is to support both the general public and educators in the field in accessing pleasure-positive sex education resources.

Where can we learn more about your work?
